The Performing Arts Center at �������ϲ����� at Tuscarawas welcomes the holiday season with three different shows sure to get the entire family into the holiday spirit!

One point, just one more point!

That was the rallying cry in the Golden Eagles huddle near the end of the fourth set – leading Penn State Mont Alto 24-20 – while trying to send their USCAA Division II Volleyball Championship match to a deciding fifth set tiebreaker.

The Eagles needed that one elusive point on four different possessions only to have Mont Alto tie the match at 24-24. The never-say-die navy and gold clawed back to a 25-24 lead and needed that one point again to advance to the extra session.

For Jeffery Osikiewicz, Ph.D., the teaching experience feels like a domino effect, one element leads to another to yet another.  

“If you come in as an instructor and you really like what you're doing, you enjoy the classroom. You enjoy the class and the students pick up on it,” Osikiewicz said. “They give it back to you. It goes for every classroom, and it makes for a beautiful experience.”  

Osikiewicz, associate professor of mathematical science at �������ϲ����� at Tuscarawas, believes this teaching/domino effect creates a bond between him and his students. 

Earning the No. 1 spot in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association’s (USCAA) Week 5 National Coaches Poll on Wed., Oct. 25, the �������ϲ����� at Tuscarawas volleyball team flew to the top of the rankings by besting fourteen other teams.

This is the first time since joining the USCAA eight years ago that a Golden Eagles athletic team has earned a No. 1 ranking. A huge road win at Potomac State College vaulted the navy and gold into the lone top spot after splitting the ranking with three other teams just two weeks ago.

�������ϲ����� at Tuscarawas Interim Nursing Director Mariann Harding, PhD, RN, CNE, FAADN, was recently appointed to a four-year term as treasurer of the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) national board.

OADN serves as the national advocate for the over 1,200 associate degree nursing programs across the country with the focus to advance excellence in nursing education and community college pathways into registered nursing careers. OADN is the only organization that advocates for associate degree nursing at the national level by using a collective voice to continue delivering opportunities for nurse educators, as faculty and leaders.
